Gender Dualaity, Gaia and Shamanism:
Kiajinn likes exploring ruins, and in one such site, he found a ritual chamber within the core.
He can read some ancient inscriptions, but his understanding is very simple: key words, mostly.

So, Kiajinn found this ritual chamber in the centre of the ruins, and he 'reads' the inscriptions of the old ones.
He deciphers that this site is where a deity Gaia, the Earth Mother, also known as Mother Nature, supposedly granted divine power (elemental power, or Shamanism) to those who invoke the Orb of Gaia within, and managed to decipher how to invoke the orb himself.

Kiajinn's lack of understanding of the inscriptions left him unaware of a certain fact. In the distant past, this was a shrine where the old ones sent their girls to be blessed by the Earth Mother. Provided that the girls were pure of heart and soul, it would gift them with power over her domain of Nature to become her daughters, known by their own people as Gaia's Daughters, or Priestesses of Gaia.

Kiajinn was foolhardy, and decided to try invoking the Orb of Gaia. Looking back on this, he realized this wasn't the wisest idea he had ever had. The Orb worked and Gaia came answering the call, Kiajinn meeting the immortal demigoddess. However, she wasn't too pleased to have a male 'desecrating' her hallowed chambers, yet she decided to be merciful on the feline. After all, it had been many years since anyone had been sent here to commune.

Gaia decided not to destroy Kiajinn, as he was pure of heart and soul. Instead, she gifted him with the powers he had sought, but at a small cost. Gaia attempted to transform Kiajinn's body into that of a female forever, but due to her inexperience, Kiajinn was left with two bodies: one male, and the other, female.

Kiajinn awoke from a dream like state for the first time in his female form, but eventually found he could suppress the female body despite it now being his true form, as can be proven by giving his body a shock such as a dunk in ice water or a sharp sneeze.

Problems and Issues:
A shock induced transformation usually locks Kiajinn in his female form for a while.
Additionally, Kiajinn has found that she cannot shift while in heat, which proves to be a pain.
Kiajinn also theorizes that should the female body ever become pregnant, she would be stuck like that until at least the birth, if not forever.

Summary:
So, he pissed off and honored Gaia, and got gifted or cursed depending on how you look at it. It is also the reason for the leek, it's used in conjunction with Shamanism as various weapons. Kiajinn can make the leek grow and harden as a weapon to imitate a wand, a mace, or a katana. Kiajinn's Shamanism is stronger when female, and he/she can command various aspects of nature.
