Because making a person POC just for the sake of it being other than white upsets me. Like my skin color is a fucking fashion item or popular symbol. Make anything with a black character and it gets way more love and comments on tumblr or dA SIMPLY BECAUSE they're black.

That isn't true. It gets love from people who appreciate the art as well as seeing something other than another generic white character. But it also gets more comments like yours, complaining simply because the character is black.
Tons of white characters get love for being nothing other than generic moderately attractive white characters. If these characters were all white you clearly wouldn't have an issue. NobodyΒ EVER questions when a cast is ALL white, unless the cast was originally non-white. But even when original characters have always been non-white or black (like Black Panther) race is still a hot topic in question and "why so many colored people??"
Β It's sad that you're a POC but don't appreciate non-white characters. People like you are the reason I mainly create characters of color and write about them. You have it set in your mind that White = Default/Normal. I don't want my beautiful little sisters and future child to feel that way; like they need an explanation for their presence. Non-whites exist and we are not a monolith or "political agenda". Get that through your head.Β

Cute face, excited eyes, you can almost see her jump up and down. If Pinkie was a human, I would see her having this expression. Tbh, I think she's the best among these headshots. Just spot on.
But then, I don't know if you could tell, she's kinda my favourite pony. Like my user name is basically Pinkie Pie Fan.
But yes, if you really want it that way, I'll give you the reasons to believe that I am as utterly racist as you seem to want to think I am.
Fluffy hair. There. I said it. You happy now? The fluffiness of an afro hair style just perfectly matches the fluffiness of the pastel pony. And yes, this was what first made me think, this suits her well. I am not proud of it. I judge people's fitness for Pinkie Pie based on the elliptic-ness of the cross-section of their hair. And that ellipticness is prominent in black people. Or in other words: Her hair is curly af! Did you see the cute afro puffs from the nightmare night episode? Just like black people wear them! Her hairs' poofiness enlightened me and I quickly, thoughtlessly commented.
Also, thinking of it through the very-racism-conscious-lens you lent me, most of my black friends (all I can think of rn) share her extrovert nature. That is of course not a representative sample and it should not be, as it is just my experience. Though if I tried to find the essence of cultural differences I experienced, I can relate a lot of that to Pinkie. Which might just be, because I make it fit, idk. Maybe I relate my experiences to what I see and associate black people with this, idk extrovert colorfulness? So yeah, I'm probably guilty of generalizing. And certainly of overanalyzing.
I still think it's great to see ponies embodied in different skin colours even though it's forced and weird here... and tbh the culture of the show is totally western/white.
They even have zebras to show that black people would be "different" (WTF!). And foreigners are often portrayed as entirely different (stupid) animals. Like native americans being freakin buffalos. Don't get me started about the yaks -.- I know they mean well and in the end the moral is mostly close to "they are nice and it's all just a misunderstanding". But the way to get there is kinda insulting at times. Ehm.. back to my point.
This does not dictate anybodys headcannon, heck, people have probably always imagined their favourite imaginative figures being and looking like them. Just as Jesus pictures are black-skinned in places where the majority shares that skin color.
Yes, it bothers me if they all have to be different skintypes just because they "need to be diverse". It's overcompensating pc.
A "token black guy" does not stop racism, to the contrary. Stereotypes can do more harm than good. But then, as others pointed out, this is someones headcannon. It's their choice and we can only really assume the motivation.

I love this a lot. Honestly, I feel that people should be able to interpret the charcter's skin tones however they want, considering they're just multi-colored ponies, and I really hate seeing people argue over them. I adore your headcanons, and I personally prefer diverse skin tones.
