Description Timber wolves.

Full view recommended.

The right one is a female cub which was born that spring (~half a year old). The right one is one of the (30) adults of the pack.

They were in an age where they would start to learn about the rules of the dominance of others. The young black continuously demanded food from the adult black one, but the adult did not want to give her food. They had arguments repeated times.

*Wolf pups are allowed to do quite anything in the group until they are ca. half a year old, after that they need to find their place in the rank order of the pack.

**Wolf pups demand food of older pack members by lipping their lips. This evokes the olders to throw up some pieces of their last meal for the pups. This is how young wolves are fed in the wild when they stay behind while the pack goes hunting and they can not yet join them. And if your dog lips your mouth, he behaves like a pup, although he is adult.

Dogs are quite stopped in their mental development (meaning they behave like pups all their live long) compared to wolves. Other than wolves they have us to care for them, so they can stay in their role as the adorable pup, as they need not to grow up.

You are welcome . Dogs are very adorable pets. I never had one myself, but my best friend got a baby poodle on her 7th birthday and he stayed with us (and through all adventures ) for 13 years, too.

Yeah, I have to agree. We adopted a 6 year old English mastiff, and much to my surprise, he still acts like a frisky pup at times -- though 6 years is nearing the end of their lives for a mastiff. Giant breed dogs do not live as long as smaller dogs, on the average.

In the "Wildpark Bad Mergentheim" in Germany [link] A great very natural zoo with no bars or concrete at all and lots of space for the animals

Yes they do! Wolves can make to scary faces! No wonder they resemble the bad guy in tales so often.
Yup, somehow it happens quite regularly that another wolf is just walked over and then hides in the grass until the trouble over his head has ceased.
