I l ike that one but it's small. :c I was wondering if you can replecate that one except the eyes being of plastic(complete black of course, circle eyes)Β and the smile being like thisΒ c: the mouth like an upwards c xD idk if i am explaning it good. Just there's different kinds of smiles. A wide smile, small smile, half a smile, etc.

yeah but the plastic eyes wouldn't be expensive or hard to find. owo;;; i find them -everywhere- xD sadly I have no sewing machine well my mom does but she's kind of a jerk and thinks sewing should be left for women. e___e which i respond to-- yeah great teach me to treat women like tools. lol. ..cause that's going to get me somewhere in these times. xD (Sarcasm).
And my hand stitching is horrid.

O.O Oh my.
Um let me get an estimate on how much that would cost, before we get into more details.
30 inches: a yard of fleece is 36x59 inches.
My normal BMO's are 6x12, so to transferred that to your size: 15X30 (This includes the legs)
My sizes are 6 inches wide, so your would be: 15; The arms would be 10" long
There are a few more but I basically have it mapped out.
I would need about 1and 1/4 a yard of fabric at about $10 a yard, so $12.50 for fleece.
Then the details (eyes and buttons): $8 in fabric and plastic.
Now for stuffing 30x15x15= 6750^3. So in ounces that is 3740.26. That translated into Lbs. is 233.8. Now a plushies needs a lot less. So It'll be about 3-4 Lbs, which is $16 in stuffing.
Now on to labor, since the the machine will not be doing the work for me on the details, I will have to to stencil the parts out and sew them all on manually. Taking me about 1 hour for stenciling and cutting and another 2 hour for sewing and making sure the parts are in correct places.
Cutting the pattern other than the decors will take about a hour.Β Sewing the limbs and body, face managing that amount of fabric on machine may delay things that makes it 3 hours on the machine in that process. That is total is 7 hours of work at least I charge $15 a hour making that $70 of work.
Shipping is the last part, guessing that it'll weight around 4 lbs, I'll check USPS princes. Which says it'll be about $30.30 assuming I can find a box the same size of the plush.
In total $171.80
Man, that is a big plush.

xD could you recalculate it sitting? :3

Sitting would get higher in the price. @.@

Let see, well the original change to my current size pattern to yours was 2.5. That has now changed to 4. Changing that the total would end up to $235 about. @.@ I wouldn't know if I would be up for such a task.

O.O Yeah, your ideas are a bit scary.
If you get a combo sewing/embroidering machine I recommend a Brother SE400, they are the best for the price normally less than $300. The files themselves are done by many programs, I use Stitch Liberty, but there are much cheaper programs for digitizing images.

How does it work? Can I get an image from to be printed on it? like embroided I mean?

An embroidery machine is like a thread printer.
The program take the image and then translates it to stitches.

and how do I make sure it uses the correct colors? o.o

On the file/on screen it doesn't matter, but if you are getting one that isn't industrial, you have to change the colors each time for eve block you tell it to sew. An industial one will have multiple spots for many color, each spot has a number, and you program the number to your block that you want it to be.

D: Thats really sad though. I've had handmade things disappear before. It sucks when people can get enough perspective to understand that plushies take hours to make :/

kiashone In reply to BaileyNickerson [2013-01-09 02:23:32 +0000 UTC]
I got them back though.
Yeah, just embroidering the pieces for BMO alone is 1 and a half hours.
I understand they want it and it breaks my heart to have high prices on things, cause I want them to be affordable for everyone. I do my best to keep each plush below $80. But when things get stolen it takes away from the money I need to buy more supplies to make them.

Yeah :/ for me, plushies aren't very profitable just yet (I would make more money at a McDonald's) But they're more fun than videogames most of the time. And I get it. Everyone is too used to buying mass-produced plushies at walmart for their kids, and throwing them out when they get old or dirty :/ I don't think toys were always like that. Sorry to rant lol xD-very nice work in your gallery :3

I put you on my featured journal list thingy. Hope you don't mind. If so I'll take it off.
I heard of people buying $60 plushes that where mass produced with poor quality. I was like WTF?
And ranting is cool. ^W^ Plus thank you!

People would stop buying those awful plushies for sure.
I should put a picture of me on my plushes, but I'm too cheap to buy tags for my stuffed animals, so I embroider my logo. I think is is better than tags since they can't be cut off and I put it on the bottom of the foot, plush tags kind-of ruin the plush, and I use a color just a little off from the main color of the plush. N
ow I'm ranting. ^^ll

oh I'm bad about that. I haven't looked into the ribbony looking tags so I do a canvas patch on the foot xD I'll fix that soon though, haha

Going to look out of curiosity.
