Spoilers for the end of the series~ so if you're in the middle of watching, skip this! Anyway, this was just a sketch that I got out after seeing the end of this series, and I used it to practice on for the pattern-style shading the Monte Cristo anime (gankutsuou in Japanese) uses. Its really like nothing I've seen before in anime, gorgeous artwork, and very tempting to play around with. I created all the textures from scanned materials save for the dress, which is a composite of origami I scanned, and a couple stain glass windows via google. I want to do more, but getting the textures right was kindof time consuming. >_<Related content

The ending left a lot to be desired. If it was going to end like that, he should have gotten his revenge instead of a lecture from a little pussy.
I just wish it were better executed, as why the book still remains my favorite of all.

I just hate the lack of judgment in the later episodes, the green guy removes the bullet from his lung when he was shot by the judge right? So why the heck did the count not have him remove the sword fragment from his freaking heart... talk about dumb. If that one thing would have changed I bet the show would have went the way of the movie. Albert taking up his sword against the count again only to learn that he was his real father. (this maybe sparking the rehumanization of the count) Then the fake father would have become the main enemy just going nuts (he gets killed) and everyone would have lived happily ever after. (except maybe for the General, Judge, and Broker)
