This is a drawing of Sun Wukong the monkey King from the epic Chinese tale Journey to the West.

I rediscovered a PDF hiding in my bookmarks from a project I never pursued for school. (I picked a different topic but anyway) So I'm currently on chapter 15 out of 100 chapters of the story.

This version of wukong is from after he escapes the realm of the gods and the 8 trigrams furnace.

I really like the monkey king's character because (I'm year of the monkey) he's always looking out for his people and goes about things in a very practical way. Of course the most practical solutions to most problems involve just killing people who stand in his way.

There is something admirable and honest in his method that the other characters in the story don't really appreciate. (Of course this is because the story has a strong Buddhism theme)They try to convince him he is wrong and he listens but doesn't give in to their point of view right away.
