“This place brings back memories, huh?” He said. He raised his head and closed his eyes. “We promised to be best friends forever here, right on this rock." Tucker giggled and looked at Danny again. “And then I pushed you into the pond to make it official,” he added.

Danny chuckled weakly and stared at his reflection again. “That was the weirdest baptism I had ever had,” he said softly.

This place was referred to in chapter six of Return of the Hero. Danny met Tucker and Sam in kindergarten. He played with blocks alone, considering he was too shy to speak to anyone, and then comes along a little black boy with big glasses and an even bigger mouth. He introduces himself as Tucker Foley and asked if he could play with Danny. Shortly after, Samantha Manson comes along, stating that she didn't want to play Barbies with the other girls anymore.

And thus a friendship began.

My 13 year old brother looked at this picture and said that the little girl didn't look like Sam. "She's supposed to be dressed in black with purple makeup and look like a goth. She looks too happy there." Not to mention she's wearing a dress. But when you're five years old, you have to get dressed the way your parents suggest, and back then, Sam didn't really care. It was only when she reached her teens that she decided to give herself a personality... at least, officially.

I have fun drawing kid characters. They're so cute and cuddly! Danny's just adorable in this picture isn't he?
