Don Rosa's epic of Scrooge's life is one of my favorite Disney stories, and consequently, Scrooge is one of my all time favorite characters.

Also we need to remember that for a 13 y/o he's still a young teenager. Even when in that era it's the maturing age he still miss his mother the most.

I THINK HIS LIFE IS SOMETHING LIKE ROCKEFELLER'S LIFE
BORN WITH NOTHING AND JUST WITH PERSEVERING AND A COUPLE OF DOLLARS ON HIS POCKET HE COULD BECOME A TYCOON MAN AND RULED THE MOST IMPRESSIVE OIL EMPIRE ON THE EEUU AND THE WORLD

That was Scrooge reflecting on his life shortly after he became a recluse.

In his thoughts, Scrooge even harkened back to those days.

Is this according to the comic or the TV show? Because the comic came long before the TV show, and I seemed to have noticed all over the place that it was 10 years old, not thirteen.

I'm pretty sure that it said that he was 13 when he left Scotland, and 10 when he earned his Number One Dime, but now I'm not 100 % sure ... I'll have to look it up - it might turn out that I'm wrong ^^

Which Life and Times is it? the one Don Rosa wrote or the book by Carl Barks?

Life and Times is actually worth the read. I plan on getting the The Life and Times Companion book at some point. There's also a two volume set of Carl Barks stories called "Carl Barks Greatest Ducktales Stories", which collects all the CB stories that were made into Ducktales episodes.

Wow. Really deep childhood backstory for Scrooge. Nice job. In your eyes, why does he emigrate to America anyway? Is it against his will, his own decision or what?
