Description Soldiers are some of the most important people in our lives today. They are the ones who are trained to fight for the very freedom we know and love. Many soldiers and their families have sacrificed for that freedom, not only losing the life they lived but also losing the life they could have lived. My utmost gratitude goes out to the men and women, and their families who paid this price so that my family and I can live free. The soldiers in the background saluting β€œthe new guy” knew that sacrifice all too well. But Jesus who paid the ultimate sacrifice embraces the soldier as a Father whose son has come home from war.

If you are or have served in our military in peacetime or war,
I salute you.

This is beautiful... I don't have words to describe how beautiful of a picture this is. We owe those men and women so much but ultimately our Lord Jesus for His greatest sacrifice. It brings comfort knowing that many of those who die protecting others will still be welcomed home...

Thank you for such a wonderful picture. My husband served for 10 years in the military, and 1 tour in Iraq. It is nerve racking for everyone, and God helped me though it. He came home safe, but not all that went with him did. I know he has told me many times he knew God was with him, and brought him back home safe. Thank you so much again!!

man you know i was randomly searching for some pictures of soldiers in a temper of palin-induced patriotism, and i was wondering what, exactly, this picture was, what with all of the older-looking costumes in the background. i couldn't see the identity of the individual embracing the returning soldier, and at first, based on the title, i figured it was just a family member welcoming the young soldier back home.

when i opened the picture and realised what was being depicted, it brought tears to my eyes. incredible!

Such a heartwarming and amazing pic there!! I also have a friend who went to Iraq in the current war, and he came back with a really bad leg, so bad he needed decapitation! We should all learn to trust and obey God!!

Can I ask you a question? I know this was posted years ago, but if the soldier is innocent but not Christian you don't support them?

I'm a Christian but I don't agree. Shouldn't you support all the soldiers if you support any of them? The Bible talks about forgiveness and loving everyone. Anyone can love someone that loves them back, or are a part of their own religion. That's easy, but it takes much more to love someone with whom you have many differences with or who have hurt you. What impression would you give to an unbelieving soldier by only supporting Christians. I know I would probably be upset, whether they are believers or not they sacrifice time, effort, family, and their lives in order to keep their countries safe.

Sorry, that was more than one question. I'm not trying to start an argument, I just wanted to bring up the point.

Ola, howsit going.. it's a very touching and beautiful piece.. however we all know that this war is wrong, without the U.N.

it is illegal and that is why much wars are spreading all over the world illegally. Greed is the main sin in our times, if you do know about our times.

Anyways Soldiers mostly are innocent, but some are not. Wars are bad and the U.N. should only be the one who can take down dictators.. not individual nations.

Anyways, BIG UPS TO E.U. + keep the peace stronger and the truth closer.
