Nice! The contrast is great, and the classic straight-on shot works well for those huge, soulful eyes. I read earlier in the other comments that your scanner didn't quite capture the depth around the lips and the nose - that's a shame, since it's the only part I think needs improvement. Love it!

I like the mood here. I wish that the head wasn't clipped, though, and personally, i'd have gone for something to remind the viewer that this isn't just floating in space (a bit of background shading or something like that), but I still like what you've done with the face, particularly the eyes and the lighting there.
