Description It feels like I'm coiled up and ready to spring forward. I attended this year's CTN expo in LA this year and came away feeling like I could charge at adventure now.

For the past 10 months I have been in a state of damage control. I have been doing everything I could to hold myself and my life together. For the past 4 months, I have been learning how to function without being hyper vigilant. Because of this, new things were very disorienting and changes in plan would bring me to tears. Within the last 3-4 weeks, I have been medicated for mild depression, I have been bouncing from one weekend even to another, and I've been watching myself not break down as much as I had been in the past.
CTN is the event that I can point at where everything turned around. Being able to talk about art with hundreds of other artist, talk to pros and get tips for how to successfully market art, it was well worth the price tag of attendance. By far one of the best things that happened was the purchasing of a Cintiq.
An artist by the name of Lizzie Nichols was selling an old cintiq 12WX that she no longer needed. I have been really wishing for a cintiq for about a year now but have lacked the funds for a new tablet. When I saw the quality of the tablet that Lizzie was selling and the great price that she was selling it at, I about exploded with excitement. I think I may have, but I was too excited to notice.
Getting the cintiq to talk to my computer was annoying, mostly because hunting down the right adapter was rough. But, once I got it working, it felt like I was flying. Working on the cintiq was like getting up out of a wheelchair and racing the wind. It was exhilarating.
For the first time in nearly a year, I feel like tomorrow is going to be better than today. While the cintiq is not the sole cause of this, it certainly helped propel me forward. This image is a celebration of that.
Now, if you don't mind, I'm going to go fly around the block a bit.

I really love how she's running from this full, rich environment into a blank area. It's got this feeling of, "Life is a blank canvas, and I'm going to make something AWESOME!!!"
