Not at all! his eyes are where they need to be! This is the best way i saw someone visually describe a line from the "Rational gaze" song from Meshuggah.
" We've all been blinded - Subjects to visual misinformation "
Look beyond !
Close your eyes!

Just imagine you had a dream/nightmare and this was your skull.

I once had a very vivid dream where someone had me pinned down and was pushing a knife very slowly into my eye (yes I did feel pain). I woke up a few moments in and I was covered in sweat. T_X

Woah! Really? Damn! I can imagine that! But you really felt the pain???
I can't remember me having an experience like that!

Shisho2k In reply to kiki71 [2011-02-08 13:49:10 +0000 UTC]

Yeah I have no idea where my brain came up with the pain for it, because I wouldn't have the first idea of what it actually feels like to have my eye stabbed through. I've had an eye abrasion before, quite painful, probably not too far different in quality.

Oddly, the part that bothered me the most and caused me to wiggle myself awake was the scraping sound the knife made against the back of my skull. The tip was raking around in there and I could hear it like inner ear wise (kind of like how chewing and teeth grinding echo inside).

Every now and then I'll have an unfortunate dream like that, but post panic, they're actually quite interesting. I think it was David Firth (Salad Fingers guy) who said his animations are mostly based off his deranged dreams.

I probably have these kinds of dreams because of all the wacky low budget horror movies I saw as a kid. ^_^

Wow...you remember this very vividly!
Must be quite a creepy experience...damn!
Oh David Firth!!! I love Salad Fingers!!! And i really didn't know it was based on that! Wow...good to know that! Thanks...

Hahaha...i wonder what would have become of me or rather what i would've drawn now if i saw movies like that when i was a kid...

I probably do in a way. When I sketch things or write stories. A great deal of it is personal in way that people wouldn't know or understand the circumstances or people involved. Like the nightmare I had about half insect half squirrel creatures that lured my dog away and they chewed off all his legs, and I ran after him and fought these red eyed critters away, and I was trying to carry him to the car to take him to the vet. I picked his torso up and all his legs in a bundle and I kept dropping a leg and having to stop and pick it up, all while he was bleeding to death.

People I guess wouldn't really know the back story on my dog and his joy in tormenting the local animal population, and how this was probably nature's payback. ^_^

I can probably directly tie this back to a movie I saw when I was kid where some kid tortured bugs and pulled their wings and legs off, and one night two giant fly monsters visited him in his room and pulled all his limbs off and he had to live the rest of his life as a stump. Can't recall the name of it, it was one of those short story style horror movies like Creepshow.

hahaha...this sounds actually funny the way you're telling it...but i know it was not at the time since it was a nightmare after all...
This really is great material to work with! You really should put it on paper!!!
I wish i had a memory like that...damn...

Haha a comic strip perhaps one day, but yeah I was in a state of panic and despair as the situation was unfolding, but I'm probably a lot like you in the sense that a these things in hindsight are often amusing or at least fascinating.

Perhaps it's some kind of masochism, because as a kid I always loved horror movies because I enjoyed being mortified and terrified. Thinking something might bite your hand off if you let it hang over the side of the bed while you're sleeping added a little excitement to life.

About the memory thing, yeah that's too bad. I've known a few that have had more frequent dreams than me, but I have to say for what I get I wouldn't ever choose to be without the sleep theatre. Even the odd wandering dream with haphazardly organized landscapes. I'm walking out of my bedroom, into a field... and now I'm on the top of a building... wtf.

Pure speculation, but sometimes people who don't recall their dreams have a sleep problem. I've heard of a few people who had sleep problems and after getting them treated dream most nights. Not to invoke health paranoia, because I'm sure there's probably plenty of people who just simply don't remember their dreams just because.

They can be elusive and avoid going into long term memory. I've had countless awesome dreams seem to just disintegrate from memory as the day went on, or as soon as I was awake for more than a few minutes. Like wow I can't wait to share this... wait what was it again. effff.

When I think about it (like this moment) I do actually have quite a bag of dream information from the years. It's all off and on, I don't remember or experience them every night, but over time the stuff I have held onto has all kinds of fun and weird dream stuff. Lucid dreams, being half awake half dreaming, having a dream inside a dream, having fake memories/knowledge in a dream, remembering a forgotten dream in a dream, having reoccurring themed dreams, etc. It's trippy stuff.

haha...yeah you should be glad you have that...well one day you will, and to make sure you don't forget anything write it down in a notebook...

The part i was referring to was that you held onto all that kind of weird dream stuff...the weird kind of dreams you have...that's mad! haha...i never have heard such a thing before...

Shisho2k In reply to kiki71 [2011-02-10 10:06:34 +0000 UTC]

Hahaha I wouldn't want anyone to ever find that notebook.

I had a nap yesterday for example, and I had this dream where in a part of it my mom was looking up all kinds of lesbian porn on the Internet. So not sure how to jot that one down.
