well the name "Chara" itself is a feminine name,Β  nameberry.com/babyname/Chara

though it's believed that the character Chara is short for "Character"Β 


though I have seen people headcanon/theorized Chara as both a boy and a girl (not at the same time but you know what I mean)Β

Both of them are referred to as just "they," so I have no idea what your use of "obviously" is supposed to imply. I see Chara as a girl too, but it's not really that obvious, considering their lack of further detailed sprites in the actual game other than their 4 complete overworld sprites.

Appearances, especially those from a character's basic overworld sprites, do not automatically dictate said character's gender, yknow. :/
