For: King Lancelet's Midsommar Festival

Night had begun to fall on Unicornia and everyone was getting ready for the costume contest that would be happening in a couple of hours. Many Boucles and their handlers choose to do simple but gorgeous costumes, while others did more detailed ones. Nico was excited for this as he would get to be creative and get a costume out of it. When they got to the fabric area, they were surprised with how big it was. There was a lot to choose from. Nico wanted to show that he could be grown up so he decided to choose the colors for Octavia's costume. He had her wait by the maypole that they decorated. As he was looking, he stopped over by the red fabrics when a maroon gradient caught his attention. He smiled and asked if he could get the maroon fabric. The boucle handing out the fabrics smiled and handed him a bunch. Nico thanked him and took it back over to Octavia.

"Ms. Octavia, I found a fabric that would look great on you!" Octavia looked over to him and smiled.

"It looks really pretty. What do you have in mind for a costume for me?" Nico set the fabric down and looked at it in thought. He then looked back up at Octavia and his eye caught her crown. Then a butterfly passed behind her and a light bulb went off in his head. He smiled and got excited about his idea.

"I think a fairy princess would be perfect for you!" Octavia smiled and nodded.

"I think that would be perfect."

"Do you have any ideas for me?" He wanted her to choose since he chose hers.

"Hmm, well a princess needs a knight." Nico smiled and nodded a lot.

"Yeah! Then I could protect you!" Octavia went to go get some fabric for him and once she got back, then the two got to work on their own costumes. While they were working, the boucle with a question mark as a blaze came over and greeted them again.

"How are you guys doing? Are you enjoying your time at the festival?" They both nodded and Nico showed his almost finished costume.

"Look mister, I'm going to be a knight!" The stallion smiled.

"I may have something for you. I'll be right back." Nico nodded and watched the stallion trott off before going back to his costume about half an hour later, the stallion came back with a foam sword. When Nico saw it, his smile grew and he accepted it and gave a thank you. "Your welcome bud. And it's a gift from me. Take care of it now." Nico nodded and promised that he would take really good care of it. The stallion stayed a little bit longer then had to leave to check in with the other guests. He bid them farewell and headed to another group. The two continued to work on their costumes until it was time to present them. Octavia helped Nico get his on and adjusted the sword for him so that he wouldn't step on it and hurt himself. Then Nico helped Octavia get hers on. He couldn't quite figure out how to do the strap for the wings. He asked her for help and she asked him if he would like to braid a small part of her mane instead. He agreed and started on that task while Octavia tied the strap. Once they were finished, they were now ready for the contest and both were excited to see all the different costumes everyone had made.
