Ghostbusters was being written at the time Belushi died and the part of Peter was supposed to be for John but since he died, the part was given to Bill Murray. Dan Aykroyd still wanted to remember him since Belushi was his best friend,so slimer was created. The habits Slimer had (like eating a lot & being stubborn) were Johns traits too.

I normally wouldn't eat a sandwich like that, but anything is good with corn! This is probably the dumbest flick that I love. It was so corny and unbelievable, yet awesomely fun. (Can I do your taxes?) BTW - One of the Ghostbusters will be in Chicago!
