I always loved these vibrant blue pools among the red rocks and scarce green vegetation. Are they really so intensely blue?

Wow, I was just in the GC for the first time this summer - what the hell rock was I living under where I didn't see or even hear of this amazing place!? I know where I'm going next time. THanks for sharing.

I do! We actually hiked down to the bottom of the canyon and camped there, then hiked out the next day. 3,500 foot elevation change each way, 5.5 miles or so. 20 is pretty hefty, with that kind of elevation change maybe I couldn't do it... esp in the heat. Did you camp two days?

Well, it's 2O miles : 10 to go, 10 to go back and yes, it's very hot ! I've done it in August XD. We camped 2 days, but I didn't sleep the first night, it was about 48°C (118 Fahrenheit) 
The worse thing is that you need to carry a lot of water during the hike and it's so heavy ^^.
But, I've done this hike with my family (my brother is 15),we succeed and that will stay a great memory.

Yeah, the colors of the water is real, that's why this place is called "Havashupai", it means : green and blue water.
