...for just a study i think this is nice (you could work more on his face though...)
Between us, you shouldn't bother much about your teachers opinion...there is no ''wrong''in art...
From my experience teachers try to mold us so that we would create in their own way and style...don't do it...
You should just study,experiment and master in how to use your mediums and techniques in order to find in you the artist you want to be...
I was always atracted by darkness and almost every one of my first creations were black and white...
I didn't know this version of Caravaggio's Saint Francis...thanks...
If i was your classmate i would draw his Medusa...Caravaggio loved a lot to paint severed heads ...Β

Yes I seem to have problems with faces (I need to study anatomy more). I was afraid her wouldn't like the drawing because it's way too dark compared to the painting but he was ok with it in the end.

I'm happy you like it. Unfortunately it's not as close to the original as a study should be but I think it's not a bad start.
