The title of this picture struck me - Laki is the name of a volcano on Iceland, which erupted with a LOT of ash a few hundred years ago, poisoning more than half of all Icelanders AND causing a severe famine in Europe. It might even have influenced the Monsoon, causing famine in India too. Ash(e) and Laki? Coincidence? I think not!
