Nothing about Shay is in any way princess-like, even if she is one. Almost eternally in ‘fite me’ mode, never bothering to stop her tongue, Shay is fiery-tempered young woman wearing her heart on her sleeve for everyone to see. She doesn’t play political games, doesn’t pretend to be someone she isn’t. She just is, as she is, for all to see – and if someone decides to remain unbothered by her outburst and extend their friendship, she will literally march through Hell with them.

Shay also has issues expressing romantic feelings, especially towards someone she considers a friend (a life-long friend, to be precise) in fear of ruining said friendship. It’s kind of sad to watch her be an idiot pining from afar.
Having been the current princess of Aridia, Arissa’s attack was also directed heavily towards her. As much as every person of the current generation’s Elite lost something, Shay inarguably lost the most – with her parents poisoned and kept in magical coma and Older brother thrown through malfunctioning portal. Shay herself was nearly murdered, to which massive scars on her shoulder and hip are testament.

Having retreated to Earth, in which magic she could distantly feel her brother’s signature, Shay grew increasingly frustrated in her inability to locate her brother until, with help of Thamira, they managed to deduct that he was thrown back in time.

In the meanwhile, she also realized that her fraternal uncle, Marsil not only managed to seduce a woman of Earth, but she also – most likely unbeknownst to Marsil himself – had a daughter. Having found her young cousin, not only Shay but whole Elite proceed to train the, at the time, twelve-year-old Roxy, who soon becomes integral part of their lives, along with her adoptive father.
