That's a great painting! I'm having an extremely hard time painting because I always want to be able to do al of those small details, and that's hard with painting. But I think you did an amazing job

I actually like the way the colours turned out. The way you used the water colours gives you that shiny look that is necessary for cetacean skin. However, my only qualms are with the perspective for the tail; just awkward that it's kind of there in the back, and it's very noticeable that you just kinda ran out of room. You just need to watch when you're scaling to make sure they fit on the page if that's what you're going for. I have this problem all the time
