When I was a kid this movie was watched in a continuous loop and it still influences me artistically as an adult. I read the book recently and it's language is just beautiful.
Thus inspired, here is my take on the scene where the unicorn drives the Red Bull into the ocean and frees the others trapped there in.

When I found this picture, it was the itty-bitty thumb version, but I was still like "No way, this couldn't be..." Sure enough, it was the scene of the red bull walking defeated into the ocean.
I'm so glad I looked at the full version though!
The way you pull shapes together to make a picture is amazing! Your coloring has a playful attitude to it, and the detail on the bull... just WOW. Best of all, I loved how this picture just brought back memories of watching "The Last Unicorn" and "The Flight of Dragons" over and over until I wore out the video cassettes and my mother had to copy me new ones to wear out.

Oh wow, this is great! I love how you used the subtle texture in everything. I always liked this part as a kid, and I think it's still my favorite scene.

Wow, the colours in this are absolutely magnificent! The red of the bull is just the sexiest red in the world... I love the size of the unicorns compared to the size of the bull. Potentially my favourite piece of yours thus far. Wonderful work!

A great book and a great movie! I, too, used to watch it repeatedly as a kid and am the proud owner of the latest edition DVD

This is true which is why I've just ordered a Bedazzler and I'm going to Bedazzle the heck out of my neck with amazing rime stones made of precious plastics. Then that bull and I will start an impressive neck club not to be confused with the impressive necking club because those guys are jerks!

I only thought I loved the movie until I read the book. Then, I went around all giddy. And now that I'm thinking back, I can remember the first time I saw the movie. I was just a little sprout then... Mom stopped at a video rental a few towns away from ours to ask directions, and I spotted the case for Last Unicorn.
Long story short, Mom had no peace until she drove back to that town, got a membership, then rented it for me. Sigh. Been hooked ever since.

I've loved that movie ever since I was a kid.. It's the one thing that really got me into drawing fantasy stuff. I've never read the book, however, but I bet it would be a marvelous one. I should go and see if I can find it. xD
