Description "A cocktail dress of slipper satin printed in charred colors with a full flared skirt, by Victor Stiebel at Jacqmar (1956)"
~Jacqmar Ltd

The designer of the dress this dress is based on was born in South Africa and originally worked as a costume designer. In the 1950's women were expected to change out of their work clothes and dress in one of these often uncomfortable numbers to fix their tired husbands a nice martini. The model is of course a badger.

She looks very cheerful despite the uncomfortable-looking dress

I'd keep that martini for myself. XD It is a beautiful dress, but - slightly less than comfortable-looking, let us say.
