to be as honest as I can, I'd say the plants in front detract from the stuning scene. Way to catch that shot. It's beautiful.

Gorgeous!
I saw this a few days ago, but it is only today that I found the time to come back to comment this and show my appreciaton for this superb landscape photo!
You could have "cheated" and stamped away the foreground in Photoshop, but honestly it doesn't bother me too much.
The nice natural framing of the pine trees make up for it and the cool blue/greenish tones are simply wonderful and support the coldness of the sea and mountains.
Great one, Kim!

Personally I think it could have looked better without the plants in the forground, if they were sharper it would have been nice but not when they are blurry. Nonetheless its a beautiful photo! I love what the cloud-shadows do to the water.

Hmm, maybe I can try to make a crop work... perhaps a psuedo-panoramic? Thanks for your honesty! This is somewhere I can get back to, although I'll have to hope for the same cool shadows on the water!
Thanks again!

Hmmm, I just tried playing with it in PS, and a severe crop won't work... a psuedo-panoramic would crop the top and the bottom quite a bit to make it look like a panoramic shot... but i think this will have to be a re-shoot. Next time I'll get it!
thanks again!

the colours are wonderful, and velvia simply rocks!
i am perhaps a little bothered about the blurry shrub up front, but it's hardly noticeable at a glance.
i suppose if all the trees were a bit more in focus it would have had a bit more impact to the image and would have created a nice 'natural' border.
it is still a beautiful sight and image nonetheless

Nice shot, i like the two sets of blues/greens in this. The water is beautiful, makes me want to jump in it. Very pretty shot, my only crit would be to use a soft grad to bring out the foreground, i think you could have pulled out more green in those trees. Nice shot.

hahahaha, almost real? It is a real place... not Terragen... although others have mentioned that it looks like a computer landscape as well.
Thanks for the comments!

I said 'almost real' because it looked as falling in that blurred line between real and surreal. I must admit that I felt a degree of flatness in this particular work: In colour and in Depth. It makes one move to do something about it. That's why I send that note to you. Haahaha... In that it was screaming an urge to breath life into that senthetic tranquility. Well, at leat I've enjoyed the dance with you! thank you, anyway...
Take care...

Ahhh, gotcha! Hmm, I wonder why it's flat looking.... perhaps I need to play with the contrast levels a bit to see if I can get more depth... thanks for the comment!

I know, my computer is sick right now (hopefully getting a new-to-me one this weekend!) and so I'm stuck uploading pics that have already been resized. Sorry for the smallness!

Beautiful place, beautiful photo capture! I don't think the softer focused trees in the foreground detract from it in the least. I love the composition, and I love that part of the world! (because usually when I am on that road, I am on my way to a ski trip at Whistler/Blackcomb!)
Some day I will have to see it in the summer...
