EXACTLY!! Jackson seemed content with making him a faceless enemy but if he had hints of his old form like when he tried to corrupt people, coming into their mind looking beautiful and wise and whispering things that sounded very fair but where evil to the core like himself.ย

I meant in their minds not in physical form.
I know he lost the ability to appear beautiful but he would have still been cunning and manipulative and have some power. If he could project an image of something fair into someone's mind it may have made them easier to manipulate than just being all fire and rage.
That's just how I see it anyway!

Yeah, Sauron was the walking armor not all the time. He looks great, beauty and evil. With such a beautiful face he can easily give his evil rings to anyone.

This is his form before he lost it. He was known Annatar, the Lord of Gifts.

He had a shape shifting ability like all the Ainur (such as Gandalf, Saruman and Radagast), and in Silmarillion he's portrayed as Annatar, which is his normal, fair form. Though he's still foul inside as Annatar and accomplished the creation of The One Ring as well as drowning of the island of Nรบmenor with his betrayals.
He's also not the only Dark Lord. Melkor or Morgoth is his master.
