This "BG" painting... (okay i admit that none of my paintings really look like animation backgrounds
like.. theres really no room for the character to move around in.. its too.. cluttered most of the time) is supposed to portray "innocence".. we had to paint TWO PAINTINGS as an assignment that displayed opposing imagery or w/e i forget the exact words LOLLLso i did innocence vs. loss of innocence.. yeahh lameeee... so the next painting posted will be the latter.
My instructor Maureen is right, i really use TOO MUCH WATER that it really thins out the paint
u can really see a lot of the paper in my paintings.. had i applied the gauche paint thicker the painting would be much more bold and vibrant!!

I think the theme is good! It's quite open, so you can interpret it how you want.
I think the soft, washed out colours really worked to your benefit here.

I dont think is lame D: is actually a good theme that can have X form of interpretation, and the yours loos really good in comparative with the other one this looks more warm, with light and more free space
