Description Not someone you want to meed in a dark dungeon.

This is the future villain of my Hogwarts RPG storyline.

Several days spend in Adobe because I had a very hard time working out the background then the lighting effects. I ended up using the same stock photo by ~cyborgsuzystock that I used in "Welcome to Durmstrang", though I changed the angle a bit so it's almost not recognizable.

Then I had a hella time getting the lighting right when I added the fireball. There's still some flaws there, but I'm done, and maybe no one will notice.

Morded is ~binarystock
Background is ~cyborgsuzystock
Fireball was created by me in Adobe.

Did you draw this and use the stock as reference? Or did you manipulate the picute to make it look more painterly ( not a word I know). I like the composition you created ( my weakest point is ocmpositions). It is visually engaging. I have to agree that it needs more shadows in the face.

I airbrush directly over the picture. It's part photo-manipulation, but more airbrushing/painting so that's why I catagorize it that way. It's cheater painting. LOL

Thank you. I remember doing a lot of work on composition in one of my art classes. The teacher was very adamant about having good composition and it's always stuck with me, though I think I still fail in that sometimes mostly do to laziness.

Yes, it does need more shadows. More highlight and contrast. I'm terrible at that kind of thing if I don't have a reference to look at and the original photo didn't have a high contrast light. So I was doomed. LOL

His name alone makes me like him, even if he doesnΒ΄t deserve it *g. I really love the spider and the way, the fire is reflected in his eyes.

Yes, I actually do like the way this one turned out, the more I look at it, even though there are some huge flaws. I think it captures dear evil Mordred very well.

You absolutely did a great job at rendering this piece!

A few points that stood out when I fist saw it:

1. The skin seems a bit too well lit in all areas considering the only light source is a fire ball and the fact that the room is so ambiantly lit.

2. Consider the light source. The skin on both the hand and the face (as well as the hair) needs some shadows.

3. Although I ABSOLUTELY LOVE the front ornament of the garment, it seems that in that type of lighting situation, the white would be much more subdued..

----

Now to more serious matters: Although I'm not quite sure what this Mordred fellah is all about... I am definetely not someone you would want to meet in a dark dungeon

Very nicely done piece!

Thanks muchly for the critique. I spent so much time trying to get the lighting right and I knew even when I finally stopped that it wasn't right. I'll give it another shot when I get a lull in projects. Fortunately I save frequently and keep all stages of the process to go back and try again if need be.

Thanks for the fave!

I thought its a lil bit to plastic, but no matter, its good work!!!

Thanks. I guess there isn't a lot of variation in the skin tones, and that might make him seem plastic. I'll look out for that in the future. Thanks for the comment.

the expression on the mordreds face is engrossing... what is the flame that he is holding or what does it represent? this work has got me intriuged.
