Another painting coming in! In my recent search for a personal style I studied a few thing in my last painting, so I quickly decided to go for another Pinup but this time done by freehand with a more graphic appeal.

Like the previous one I also did a brief making of, with sketches and color base. When I started this I had nothing in mind, I drafted several figures in Sketchbook Pro and I ended up more or less with this pose with a feel of a men's magazine Playmate. I then went for Painter to further develop the character and the scene and ended with a sexy blondie teen. Added a color base and when it was looking kinda decent I moved it Photoshop for heavy painting and detail. Since I didn't base this on any photograph I did abuse of interesting tones and color schemes making an nice contrast of warm tones of the girl's body and cool tones of the graphic elements from the background. Normally I don't work with white backgrounds, but in this case it fell just great with the elements and composition.

It was a nice painting to do, I'm quite happy with the result. I think it matches pretty well with what I intend to do with my pinup girls. I'll explore even further in my future paintings.

Sketches done in Sketchbook Pro, and lineart and color base in Corel Painter 12 and final painting done in Photoshop CS5 with a Wacom Cintiq 21UX.
