Description
It was a cool summers day under the sea & all was quiet. The sun was just beginning to rise & already someone was awake. She pushed long silky strands of brown hair behind her pointed ears. She had soft hazel eyes & light blue skin. Her hands were slightly webbed & if she had no shoes on so were her feet. She had gills on either side of her neck. She was in her room packing the last of her things into boxes.

Today was the day she was leaving for Snorkland. She was already 27 & thought it time to see the world. She turned her head with a smile as her mother sighed in the doorway "My little baby all grown up. I knew you would leave one day Lacara. So... Let me see your new crest!" Lacara smiled & handed over a necklace with a fire breathing seahorse on it.

It was tradition in the tribe of Water Sprites to create a crest upon leaving the village. Each crest started off with the family symbol (the seahorse in her case) then something new was added to it. It was supposed to represent change & new beginning. Once the Sprite married the husband/wife added something to the crest. It symbolized union & let everyone know they were wed. It may have been 2010 but her people didn't want to forget where they came from.

Her mother gave a strange look "Why add the fire?" Lacara grinned "To symbolize life & death. That & I thought it made it look cool." She put the necklace gently around her neck & headed to the kitchen for breakfast. Her mother made her kelp pancakes & seared fish. That's right fish. Sea Sprites are omnivores though they never kill for fun.

Once breakfast was over Lacara loaded the last of her boxes onto a small cart. She had four medium boxes & one small one. Her cart was pulled by a golden seahorse to be set free when she arrived. After a long goodbye from her family the chief of her village gave his blessing & drew their symbol of protection on her forehead "May your life be merry & your journey safe. Remember you must return to us on the full moon for the festival." Lacara nodded & instructed the seahorse to go.

After a few long hours of travel Lacara stopped for a late lunch. She made sure her seahorse had food first then got herself food. After she had finished eating she put everything away. She turned her head as a noise was made behind her. Near by as she ate a large sea monster with four tentacles had decided to make her lunch. It had been creeping towards her & was ready to make it's move. It was the same color as the sand & had sharp teeth. Aside from the teeth & tentacles it looked like a frog.

Unknown to both Lacara & the monster a certain orange head of Snork Patrol was passing through the area. The large frog monster caught Lacara by the leg as she turned to look for the sound. She screamed as the frog came into view "What the hell is that?!" She tried to remove the tentacle from her leg "Help! Someone help me!!" Once Lacara was close enough the frog monster wrapped her up more.

Corky was doing his rounds as usual. Today he was in the coral valley. Everything was quiet. Far to quiet for him. He wanted action. Something to do "I suppose it's for the best that nothing is going on. Besides it's not my job to want danger. I am head of the Snork Patrol after all." He turned his head to the left when he herd a faint cry for help. Quickly he turned his sub around & sped off towards the screams.

The sight that befell his eyes was horrific indeed. A strange young woman was being ruthlessly attacked by a gigantic frog creature. The creature had her wrapped up in four long sandy tentacles. As she struggled against the beast it slammed the poor girl into a rock "I can't let this happen! This looks like a job for" he made the trademark sound "The Snork Patrol!".

He sped towards the frog in his sub & clamped down on one of it's tentacles with his subs grip arm. The frog monster dropped the girl & She fell onto the sandy ground. The frog turned it's attention towards Corky & smacked the sub with it's arm. The sub spun out of control "Got to get the sub under control again!" Corky pulled on the steering wheel & regained control. The frog monster had left after deciding that this meal wasn't worth the trouble.

Corky sighed "Another job well done Corky." The sub opened & Corky swam out to the girl. When he finally made it to her he gasped. She was no snork. She had gills, no snork, blue skin, & brown hair "What in the sea are you?". Her head was bleeding & her arm was clearly broken. He bent down & picked her up. As he swam to his sub he herd the sound of a seahorse. He put the girl on a soft bed on his sub & tended to the seahorse. He attached both the horse & the cart to his sub.

Then he swam back inside & headed back to snorkland. He made sure to go slow for the seahorse. After an hour of travel curiosity got the best of him & he went back to check on the strange woman. As he got closer to her she began to stir. "Wha-? Where..." Her eyes slowly began to open. They were a lovely shade of hazel.
