Koyoshi had her misedashi, or debut of as a new maiko, in which she wore her most formal kimono and presented herself to the ochaya (tea houses), okiya (geisha houses), and local stores to thank everyone for supporting her. During misedashi, a maiko will wear special kanzashi (hair ornaments) made of tortorise shell that is only worn for this special occasion.

The Darari Obi is the style of obi worn by maiko. A special obi is needed for the style which needs to be about 25ft in length to gain the desired look. When done correctly, both ends of the knot should reach close to the maiko's ankles.
