Rapid's best friend and a total "best uncle" type toward Rapid's children Desert and Harmony.
A Fearless and kind old man (yes he is old)

Some short story
He grew up in an orphanage with his little bro Buckly (Wards nicknamed of his brother that), their parents was murdered when Ward was 10 years old, his mother had hidden him and his brother when the killer came to their home. Ward is still haunted by that day in his dreams.
as a teen Ward got into a lot of fights with other ponies as they bullied his brother and he had a bad temper. he also meet Rapid, they had a fight and rapid won. since then they have been close best friends.
Ward is "uncle" to Desert and harmony as he is travelling with Rapid and his family. Buckly is often dragged along by Ward even if Buckly doesn't like it.
