Great man. I don't care what some people are saying for me it was the best game of 2016. Where also you could play as badass protagonist who doesn't give a fuck. In all other games your characters always do what somebody asks them to do( Not all but most of them). Here he just fucks the shit out of everything and leaves

He's a supposedly ancestor in the original doom. But in the reboot he's apparently some ancient superhuman from another world, which is Argent D'Nur, before the demons dragged his world into hell and slaughtered everyone, and Doomguy, aka Doom Slayer, ravaged through hell, before he was eventually sealed away by the demons.

personally I prefer the DOOM Slayer over the original Doomguy. The Slayer's backstory is just bad-ass and more charming then a regular UAC Marine fighting the forces of hell.

He's implied to be, he even looks a bit like BJ from Wolfenstein. This is helped by the fact that BJ confronts the demon that would be fated to become the Cyberdemon in Wolfenstein RPG, who vowed revenge on his descendants.

He is implied to be, since Doom 64 takes place after Doom 2 because the ending shows that he vowed to stay in Hell to make sure no demon pours out of the gateway.

While it may be possible for Doom 64 to be connected to Doom 4, Corrax entries specifically state that the Doom Marine of an ancient civilization that lived in different realm or dimension known as: Argent D'nur. The "Argents" worshiped and committed sacrifice to powerful beings called Elemental Wraiths to protect themselves, and to harness/exploit the energy of these beings. And that's when the all consuming Dimension known we all know as: Hell came consumed all of Argent D'Nur and this seriously pisses off the Doom Marine.

The Doom Marine is implied to have stumbled upon the world of Argent D'nur and they have worshiped him as a demi-god and many of their bravest warriors adopted his style of defense against demons, and are rewarded for their service on the battlefield to be ressurected as Elemental Wraiths. At this point, I will attempt to make my theory.
