Filled with unmeasurable rage and confusion, the commander tersely made the call, and then retreated to his chambers.

She'd known of the plan. The necklace she often wore was found far from where any well-meaning city cat should be.
The only question was why? What had turned the prestigious daughter into another of the city's criminals?
That was the question which lay on the tongue of those who dared not ask.

But, these questions mattered little to the accused as she was cornered by the city's guards.

"We have orders to take you to the cages. Don't make this difficult."

Despair clawed its way up her throat, utter shock glazing her eyes. They couldn't possibly be serious?!
How? Why? What could have happened that led to her arrest?! Zeus told them she couldn't have had anything to do with it, right?

Numb, Esther hardly noticed the rain trickling down her fur as she was led towards a part of the city she hadn't dared step foot upon in years..
