#19: The Rifle of Wayland Targha (2011)

Base: Nerf Quick 16

This was my first paid commission, and I’d say pretty confidently that he certainly got his money’s worth- this is probably my best paint job to date. The only functional mods are the detachable stock on the back which is itself a modified Recon stock, and a quick nip of plastic on the inside that lets it take most suction and whistler darts as well as Taggers. It’s apparently going to be used for both costume and war, so I left the tip orange and gave it three coats of sealer to make sure the paint survives the use it’ll be under. Any additions- the character’s crest, the wiring, etc- are attached no longer with glue, but with Epoxy. I also experimented a little with the dry-brushing I practiced on the Switch Shot, to fantastic effect. I am completely and thoroughly satisfied with how it turned out. And I am SO sad to see it go. But I know it's going to a good home. Also, now I can afford a spray gun. Yay!

Features:
- About 30 Feet of Range with Taggers, and now accepts most other darts as well.
- Steampunk paintjob and aesthetic modification, including a stock and drybrushing.
- Retains all original features: Slamfire, jam door, 16-Dart integrated clip, etc.
