Yeah...sorry if anyone is insulted by this example of why I should be locked up in a padded room. XDOne of the things that inspired this crazy cartoon though was Super Duper Sumos. I will now post my opinion of the cartoon so brace yourself.
Super Duper Sumos is S*&^. Pure and simple. It has poor animation, it has poor plot, the characters (to me)feel stale as a piece of toast that has existed for as long as a dang tree, and for some reason I want to vomit at the sight of three fat guys slapping they're butts together. Yeah...NO MYSTERY THERE! Honestly, it in my opinion tries to be good but...but...MAN!
I'm sorry if a fan of this cartoon is offended by my words, but pure and simple, this is just an opinion! With a few observations. Man, when DIC made SDS it feels like they weren't just scraping the bottom of the barrel, they were throwing the darn thing away.

I admit, I kinda like Super Duper Sumos mainly for how just plain dumb it is. That, and I do find the intro to be pretty catchy, but with that said I can easily see why people would hate it. There are way too many butt jokes and the same transformation sequences are used over and over and over again, granted I guess that stuff is alright in anime, but when you use the same transformation sequence three times in one episode then eventually someone's going to notice.
Then again, I've only watched two episodes so far, so maybe I'll change my mind over time. I can't say for sure yet.

Actually, BGF does more action that the SDS.
I'm...INDIFFERENT about the show. On one hand, I can see what they were TRYING to do but in the end it just failed because they didn't know what to do with it and relied so HEAVILY on the same repeated jokes over and over again. I mean, how many times in an episode can Booma talk about his ass...and think that its cute.
Granted, I will give them props for ATTEMPTING to make a transformation scene but even that sucked because they played it over and over and over...yeah. I mean, even though Sailor Moon and her scouts did the same thing (as did other shows with transformation sequences for the ladies and the gents) at least there was...something there and I'm not talking Usagi's curves. I'm talking the mere fact that its lasted so long and what happens in the end?! THEY JUST GROWS SOME MUSCLES?! Hell, at least Usagi and her buddies changed like...their entire get up and powers...but really...
tl;dr-Super Duper Sumos....should have been tweaked if they wanted to make something unique. :\

In the defence of anime, It's fine in Japanese with subtitles... but is sucks horribly when they try to americanize it.
I have seen other versions of the same cartoons (I.E. Inuyasha in german) and they were far superior to the maerican versions. Quite frakly, there is nothing wrong with japanese anime, only with the american translators and edditors.
Btw I think you should write satire, you seem to be very good at it.

God that show sucked and I instantly knew where you got the BFG idea from because of them.
It's like the simpsons, when it's come to ideas they've scraped the bottom of the barrel and half way down to china, because everybody know no matter where you dig in the world you always end up there.
And yeah, I hate that show with my very being. I don't care about butt jokes and I don't care about snot, fart or vomit jokes. ESPECIALLY fart jokes!
They need better script writers, more american cartoons AND better voice actors!

Eh, I think 4kids dumbing down whatever Anime they get their claws on, along with all the ripoff of Anime style artwork (like "Totally Spies") and Anime / Asian Parodies (like "Super Duper Sumos", apparently, although I haven't seen it, and "Super Hyper Monkey Team Force, Go", or whatever it's called) are a kneejerk reaction to Anime's growing popularity in the states, especially amongst young kids who are used to shows that are almost 100% insults to their intelligence.
Fortunately for us, they also seem to be concentrating almost exclusively on fighting anime and "merchandise anime" like Beyblade and Pokemon clones, so the effect is limited (kids are just getting a low opinion of fighting anime). And 4kids has said repeatedly they're going after animes based on Shonen Jump mangas (which means they're going after Bleach...), which means their target audience knows immediately that the anime was butchered, since SJ is mostly uncut.

They've said repeatedly they're going after EVERY Shonen Jump Anime... that's why Naruto took so long to be liscensed, 4kids and a few other studios were in a bidding war. Bleach, too -- the only reason that hasn't been lsicensed already, given how popular it is, is because there's several groups trying to get it -- 4kids is no doubt one of them.

Well, fortunately for all of us, poor poor 4kids just can't figure out why kids aren't watching their animes... what with the mostly uncut Mangas they've been reading and the completely butchered animes 4kids offers "specailized for US kids". It's getting so bad they've been talking about cutting back on localization of Japanese cartoons and financing American-Anime production.

4kids will never get they're hands on Bleach so relax. I'll admits some kids cartoons are getting pretty bad. (Which is why the only none anime cartoons I'll watch are TFA and Avatar. With a few other exceptions that aren't worth naming.) The only thing is alot of the good series get canceled for the bad ones. like invader zim which was the best cartoon Nick has ever had but I digress...
