Rayquaza is my favorite legendary in the franchise, so when I saw that Gigantimaxes make Pokemon grow huge and alter their appearance somewhat, I wanted in on it. Rayquaza has some precedent with randomly showing up and utilizing whatever power is around, like when he decided he can Mega Evolve without bonds and stones; so I didn't think this would be a stretch either.

I tried really hard to not change his body too much, since most gmax forms left the base body alone for the most part, but I also wanted to play to his lord of the sky motif. Becoming so large has electrically charged his body to the point that even clouds form around his body, truly making him part of the atmosphere.
