Description
I'd recently been having a chat with my fellow HiJack/FrostCup artist and writer Noon30ish when I was inspired by her Pirate AU featuring Hiccup, Jack and more than a few familiar faces . The end result was this poster/cover design, featuring a hypothetical/symbolic flag for the Night Fury, Hiccup's ship.

The name of the AU hadn't yet been finalised when I started work on the artwork, but fortunately Noon30ish let me know which title she'd settled on, and I was able to throw in a title banner and tagline.

Definitely give The Guardians of the Earthen Seas a read when it gets published. I'll be revising this deviation's description to include a link once it's gone live.

With this piece, some of the most fun/challenging elements were making the flag texture look real, making realistic looking paint daubs and crafting a richly detailed, fantasy-styled title logo.
