Description: Daphoenodon is an extinct genus of terrestrial carnivore, which belonged to the family Amphicyonidae ("bear dogs") of the suborder Caniformia.

In the Picture: A mated pair of bear dogs chases away a terminator pig from their territory. The terminator pig may be big and powerful and capable of killing them, but the bear dogs are incredibly angered by its presence and turn the tables on it.

The Terminator Pig might have Size Strength Powerfull Bith Force Hooves and Weight as Advantages but the Bear Dogs have have the Advantages of Numbers Speed Agile Claws and most Powerfull one.....Brian Power.

Amphicyon wasn’t in North America yet at this point.

Yes it was, it appeared around the same time Daeodon started dying out and likely outcompeted it.

Daeodon died out about 18 million years ago, the last Daphoenodon and Hyaenodon 14 million years ago nad Amhpicyon became extinct 1.8 million years ago.

The problem is that Daphoenodon went extinct at around the same time as Daeodon, so if Daphoenodon is still around, Amphicyon hasn’t taken over yet.

Smilodon was really wimpy when it appeared about 3 million years ago, Amphicyon managed to eliminate the last Creodontid, 10 million years
