Guess she overslept....Digital painting in Photoshop 7. This one's been taking ages to finish - I'm still not happy with it, but I just want to get it over with so I can move on. I'm quite happy with the zombie flesh effects, though.

wow, all your pieces look as if they were painted on canvas, either that or that each pixel was placed one at a time painstakingly. very nice FAV!

In this case, I scanned in a page from an old newpaper I found in my gran's house (from 1900, I think), and used that as a background layer to paint on; I then overlaid the image on top of the painting to get a nice grainy effect, whilst painting a few strokes on top of it for emphasis.
So a bit of cheating was involved...

meh...it was cheating from something that no one living now would have been able to reconize. besides you did alot of stuff to it i dont even understand...of coarse i'm reading this at 1:30 in the morning and i dont have an ultimate of photoshop but it sounds complicated and hard to do so way to go! btw thanks for the explaination, if i read it again i might be able to apply it to my own work...

Sad... should have set an alarmclock afterall eh... It's beautiful, the soft colors are wonderful. It's like the moon put a veil over her body and face, making her sleep peacefully and covering her in blankets of night. Really great. Thank you.

The concept is simply brilliant here! I must admit I am not used to see such a thing. I feel like your style is different here. The mood is different also. I think this has to do with the face that's too much detailed compared to the rest of the scene. But I can't blame you, I do this all the time. In fact, that effect suggest the idea of a dream. One focal point and the rest being vague...
This leaved me thoughtful...

Nothing so deliberate on my part - I simply had the face finished, but couldn't be bothered to finish the background to the same standard! That and the fact that I was drawing it in the daytime with the sun behind my monitor, making most of the painting appear black! I looked at it again at night and there was a load of detail I couldn't remember painting, revealed by the lack of ambient light!
