The long red hair and elven ears puts me in mind of Faenor's sons. They had red hair and Silmarils, Smaug has red scales and an Arkenstone!

stitches-with-love [2013-03-29 12:33:06 +0000 UTC]

goregous love the colours
just 1 question: how do you use water colour withour ruining a sketch book like that?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

SugaredKittie In reply to stitches-with-love [2013-03-29 14:53:59 +0000 UTC]

I'm not the artist but there are sketch books that are really thick paged, which this one appears to be, and can take water colors or acrylic paints without bleeding or leaking. They're expensive but well worth it if this is your preferred method of artistry.

It's well executed and extremely imaginative. You don't see many people turning dragons into "humans" very often and this one is certainly well done.

Hisietari [2013-03-29 06:37:46 +0000 UTC]

Oh~ yes please! I remember your first drawing of Smaug, but this is just also very cool. I like the deep red and gold, and how this time you merged his shape even more with dragon bits. Fantasy needs more innovative dragons!
