I can't remember how long it took to finish this artwork. It's been a while since ^^ but I think some days, maybe
Copic markers are very nice to work with and you can combine them with other materials like color pencils or watercolor. I like to use them as undercoat for my color pencil artworks.
If you wanna by some, go to an art shop and try them, buy some of the colors you use often. It needs a little bit of time, but after a while you will be able to handle them.

Awesome work! Is the background done with the copic airbrush? You didn't make it to clear if this was a mermaid or not but your work with her dress/ tail is phenominally well done. You almost make me want to pick my copics up again! Actually hell, all your blending is freakin' amazing now that I take look at the whole picture!

The background is not with airbrush, I used the normaal Copic markers. It's difficult to make beauty graduation at big areas with markers, but I tried. The result was not like I expected it to be, that's one reason why I added a texture.
I thought about showing her fish tail, but as you can see, i didn't XD
Just the title explains the character a bit more, yeah and of course her lower body with the scales.
You want to draw with your markers now? Makes me happy to hear. Didn't expect my picture can have such an influence on others XP

It's lovely! The hands remind me a lot of Klimt's 'Judith'. Your colour choices are perfect too, along with the patterns. And those horns are mighty sexay.
