Realistic(ish) Absol and her cub. The cub doesn't like baths, but hey, he's all dirty. His mother has to wash him. I like to draw pokemon in "real life". Hehee :3Related content

This picture is well done, but when I fist looked at it I couldn't help but feel the moma's jaw was weird and lopsided. It took me a minute to realize it's because her tongue is partially obscuring it. I think that this drawing could be improved by making that area read better. Also, the tongue looks more like that of a human than a feline, which is a little weird. Here's a lion's tongue for comparison: [link]
Actually, looking at the whole image some more I noticed a lot of areas that feel off and lopsided, particularly in the faces. I really think you should use more reference photos and structural draw-through. You're painting skills are top-notch and it's a shame to waste them on drawings that aren't structurally sound. Remember, colours and details are superficial; it's the underlying drawing that really makes a piece of art good.

I really agree with everything that you wrote there. I have noticed those things too. I have to admit i got lazy finishing this picture when i drew this. : D This is a little old drawing - i have began using references from photos nowadays and try to use more time on my work with the details and other things.

I've been okay with either canine OR feline depictions of absol -it's an incredible creature anyway! I adore the lighting you've giving this -so very well done!- and I can't help but picture this as Simba trying to get away from his mama Serabi (or however you spell it) before going to the "water hole" (the excuse for the elephant graveyard of course). I adore this beauty!! Lovely job!
