Terata

Born from grass and wind.

Appointed by the Gods as guardians over the richer southern lands, Teratas are reclusive and prefer to practice their old traditions. New comers often have to go to great extents to gain trust from the Terata community.

Teratas were not given any magic by the Gods when they were first born, since their bodies were already naturally stronger than any of the other races. It was only later that a clay discovered deep in the mountains was found to have hallucinogenic properties. Since then, Teratas have mastered the magic of illusions. Those who specialize in the field of illusion magic are referred to as "Weavers". The clay is often used in the form of a mask, each mask being painted individually different, depending on the owner.

In recent history, Garecas have tried to move into the land that belongs to the Teratas due to their own land growing too harsh to live in. Angered, the Teratas punished those who had tried to move in. This sparked a war between the two. It continues to this day, fueled by disputes over land, and inner political disputes that have built up over time.
