Description I just rewatched Trigun this week; it used to be one of my favorite animes when I was in middle school. I even had like, those awesome figurines of Vash and Wolfwood. I used to have to buy the DVDs as they came out to watch it, and somewhere after the third or fourth volume, I went broke, and so I never actually finished Trigun back then. So this was my first time watching it through to to end! Apparently, there's a movie now, too?! Guess I know what I'll be watching tomorrow night!

Anyway, here's a fast fanart of none other than Vash the Stampede! I wanted it to have that rough, painter-ly feel to it (like Ashley Wood's work), but I haven't quite figured that out yet. Oh well! I'm pretty happy with the way this came out, especially considering it only took me a short while from start to finish! (Well, "short" for me is like 15-20 hours. Shut up! /sob!) It looks preeeetty much like what I had pictured in my head, so I'll call it a win!

(I feel like I enjoy back lighting too much. I feel like almost everything I've been drawing is backlit. NO REGRETS!!)

Edit 7/19: Here's a Wolfwood companion piece!

This is AMAZING. Like.. wow. O__O *oogles* I think you did well on the rough painterly feel, I think that's a harder look to achieve than it seems, but it looks great here!
The anatomy is great, feet always kill me but you did them wonderfully.
The sky is especially nice! Very pretty. 8] Great job. ♥

;_; YOU ARE THE BEST DEVIANTART FRIEND EVER. Thank you for all the comments!

I love doing rough painter skies! I'm glad it looks pretty! Also, it's so funny you mention anatomy!! Because when I first started out on this, I was about to dive head-first into drawing him fully clothed, but I know when I do that, I make so many mistakes. *o* So I made myself slow down and draw his actual body first, placing the muscles as correctly as I could (then I stretched him out, since that's the Trigun style!). So it's so cool that that hard work seems to have paid off! Whenever I draw people staring out with their anatomy first, I always get a little bit sad I have to cover my hard work up with clothes. I always want to stop when they're shirtless and just color that instead, haha!

YES. I do that too. I draw them pretty much nekkid and then add in the clothes. I'm with you, I want to color in the bare skinnn. 8] It works though, it means your anatomy looks good!
