Description "Scoliosis (noun): Abnormal lateral curvature of the spine."

Finally got the time to upload this one! Ah, took me around a month to finish. So I really hope you'll enjoy it!

This piece is dedicated to a very dear friend that I wanted to cheer up by showing him that looks are not the only things that matter and that he is beautiful even if he looks a bit different

Lol, I actually managed to paint sometihng that didn't involve Pokémon, haha I'm so proud.

It's done with watercolours, black and white ink and lots of love, haha The size is A2.

I hope you all are able to read the text, lol, tell me if you don't, maybe I'll write it down here in the description.

ENJOY!

Wow, I am impressed with the amount of imagination you've put into this. Maybe the whole composition would work better if it didnt consist of so many things... black and white patterns, abstract, figure, heart... There's kind
of too much of it, if you understand.
Great job anyway.

I was recently diagnosed with scoliosis.
This is a beautiful piece that, I'm sure, cheered your friend up and showed him he has support.

Thank you very much And yes, he got a lot more confident in his body after I showed him
I hope you'll be okay with it, and that it doesn't hurt you! Are you getting any treatment for it? You don't need to reply on tat part if you don't feel confortable about it

Pyro-Vampire In reply to KiraTakuto [2012-04-11 23:50:02 +0000 UTC]

I started going to a chiropractor late last week. I've had three or four adjustments since then, and there has already been improvement. My doctor says it's functional scoliosis that can probably be corrected, though my spine will never be completely straight. He was surprised that just by looking at me you wouldn't be able to tell.
I only went in because my mother is going because of a car accident, and I was having lower back and neck pains, so I decided I should get x-rays done at the very least to see what was going on. I never imagined the results, though.

I too suffer from this disease and this is a very nice gift for your friend.

Ah, I just wanted to make him more confident about himself, and I think it worked
How do you feel about it? Have you recived any treatment for it? I hope you're fine And don't reply to the questions if you don't feel confortable about it! (:

I've been getting chiropractic treatment for the past 3 or 4 months and its gone from 55degrees to 50!!!! May not seem like a lot to you, but the pain has subsided, GREATLY! And its a fantastic alternative to that horrific surgery where they cut you from your neck to your booty and peel your muscles off your spine, attach a rod, and then put you back together. I was so afraid that I may end up having to do that, but the alternative is work great!! Maybe you should tell your friend if he is in a lot of pain about this option! I highly encourage you to, if he is, or if he just wants it straightened out!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

KiraTakuto In reply to Caylyngasm [2012-04-10 19:30:29 +0000 UTC]

Oh that sounds great!
And i'm glad you're getting better! I've watched a lot of videos about the surgery, and it seems horrible. So it's a good thing they gave you other options I never asked how many degrees his back is curved, but I don't think it's that bad, at least that's what he says! And he says the pain is there, but it's not that bad Though I do worry. But I will tell him! He should talk to others about it, it would help his confidence too And thank you for telling
And I hope the treatment will make you feel better! Good luck

Caylyngasm In reply to KiraTakuto [2012-04-10 20:22:36 +0000 UTC]

thank you Its making me feel so much better!

How old is your friend? Like is he working? Cuz before I started my factory job I was alright, but after that the pain worsened. So if he thinks it hurts a little now and doesn't have a hefty job, then when he does get one its pretty much going to start hurting worse, with lifting, crouching, walking, etc.

Thanks for making this beautiful piece, I think I may feature you in my journal it has touched me so.

That's great!

He's 22 years old, will turn 23 this year. But he wants to be a photographer so he works on his portfolio at t moment I'll stop him if he dares to do any hard work, haha
I told him what you wrote yesterday, and he seemed really happy! And he didn't know about the treatment you're getting. So he said he'd ask the doctor next time

And thank you! I'm glad it touched you! I hoped it would touch others!

The colours on this look superb and the design is all really unique and detailed. I love how you've added the writing into the body "curves are beautiful"- and the way that some of the bones and organs are visible like in the shoulders, but in other places they aren't. I'm sure your friend will really appreciate and love this~
