Type Description

- Tendrils and Thorns- Grass- Like most Roserade, Viridian attacks with his hidden vine-like tendrils. Unlike most Roserade, though, each of Viridian's whips is coated in a layer of thick thorns. These thorns are both sturdy and sharp, allowing Viridian to slash at his foes without worrying about injury to himself. Anyone foolish enough to try and grab Viridian's tendrils usually falls prey to his secondary typing, anyway.

- A Killer Combo- Poison- Each of the thorns on Viridian's whips is laced with a potent toxin. Viridian has no control over his toxin, though, so he constantly has to carry around a vial of an antitoxin to cure both himself and his allies. The number of times he's accidentally stuck himself with his thorns is definitely non-zero.

Skills Tactics, combat, empathy, and anything that requires close attention to detail.

Weapon(s) Hidden vines and the occasional punch/kick. His fighting style involves keeping his distance while outmaneuvering his foes.

Personality

Selfless

Viridian has always been a very selfless man. Even when he was deluded, he always acted in what he thought was everyone's best interest. He knows the world isn't black-and-white now, so his selflessness is even more of a strength. He's definitely a dependable ally if you can befriend him. He won't give you up, let you down, or run around and desert you. He would also definitely kill me for writing that joke in here.

Meticulous

Viridian catches small details very easily. Combined with a keen memory, this trait made him excel at teaching new trainees. In his current occupation, he's modified his skills to spot improper soil conditions, crops wilting, and more. Though his biggest asset by far is noticing patterns in emotional states and responses, especially ones that mirror his own. Unfortunately, because of his past, he has a tendency to doubt himself and doesn't act on impulse anymore. He often won't do anything until he can confirm his thoughts.

Brazen

Viridian has a mouth. A mouth that likes to speak before his brain catches up. He has a bad habit of provoking enemies even when he's trying not to instigate anything. You know it's bad when even Mewtwo questions how you're still alive. Viridian, for the record, attributes it to 'idiots can't die.'

History

Saved from a Corrupted facility at a young age, Viridian was raised as a fighter from day one. He was taken in by the Resistance's current Seargent, a Serperior named Vermeil. While Viridian always assumed that Vermeil took him in because of his talent, in all honesty, Vermeil took him in out of pity.

Viridian spent the rest of his life believing that he was a hero. He saw everything as black-and-white, and for a while, that worked. He saved a few lives and earned his place in the morning papers. It was only a matter of time before reality caught up with him, though. Small mistakes piled up into bigger ones, and it all culminated with Viridian accidentally striking his own trainee. To say that Vermeil was livid is an understatement. The Serperior stripped Viridian of his rank and exiled him from Lamapie City, placing a bounty on his head to discourage him from ever returning. Or so Viridian thought. In reality, Vermeil only stripped Viridian of his rank. The snake man couldn't bring himself to outlaw his own son.

That was the first sign of redemption. But Viridian had to go through a redemption arc of his own to understand that. After living with Markus, Torch, and the Corrupted member Mimi for months on end: Viridian began to realize that the Corrupted weren't all villains. Many were just normal civilians, with the odd Pokemon forced into bad circumstances and, of course, the even rarer true evil ones. After understanding that, and some therapy, Viridian mellowed out. He stopped seeking battles with the Corrupted (except Mewtwo, it took him longer to stop fighting Mewtwo) and really took to life on the farm. He took to it so much that he still hasn't gone back. Turns out that the experimental child soldier...might not actually want to be a full-time soldier. Battles are fun, and what he was made for...but the life Viridian found has just as much, if not more, value in his eyes.

Now, Viridian lives a calm life in Bitrary City. He's been thinking of moving out, but he's decided to wait until things settle down a bit more. After all, he still has to help his dad learn how to be an actual member of society...and a young girl work through her own not-so-wonderful family.

- Due to a typo when he was created, Viridian is abnormally tall. :>

Sunny Day: The extent of Viridian's magic control. He condenses energy into a ball and chucks it into the sky, making a small region of artificial sunlight.

Grass Whistle: Hey, wanna see a cool trick? Viridian picks up a blade of grass and plays a tune.

Petal Dance: You know those ribbon dancers? Yeah, now imagine them, but with a whip laced with poison. Not fun. Not fun at all.

Synthesis: Passive. His smaller wounds heal if he's placed out in the sun for a day. Used this to avoid doctor's appointments when he was younger.
