1. WARIO: A sure bet.
2. WOLF: I have no idea why people say Wolf is a clone of Fox. Fox is a character which moveset revolves around kicks while Wolf's revolves around clawing. I think he has a good chance to return.
3. PALUTENA: Kid Icarus needed a new representative and Palutena is the second most important character of the series.
4. MEWTWO: Should have never been cut. He was a completely original fighter and he remains relevant in Pokemon games even today. He should return.
5. CAPTAIN FALCON: Sure bet.
6. JIGGLYPUFF: I hope she is cut. There are literally hundreds of better Pokemon to choose from than her.
7. PAC-MAN: There is no 3rd party who deserved it more than Pac-Man. It is historical to see him with Mario, Mega Man and Sonic all in the same game.
8. K. ROOL: Hopefully Nintendo hasn't forgotten about this iconic villain. Is hard to think of Donkey Kong's adventures without him. Besides, he is one of the few heavyweight possibilities left and he has great moveset potential.
9. Mii: After seeing Wii Fit Trainer, I knew the Miis were not far behind. Besides, they are synonymous with modern Nintendo.
10. FALCO: A highly possible return. He was already differentiated enough from Fox in Brawl. They only need to do that a little bit more.
11. R.O.B.: I think he will be among the characters who get the axe.
12. Rhythm Heaven rep.: I don't know how it would work. I mean, I always thought Rhythm Heaven was a great idea as a stage, but as a fighter? I don't even begin to understand how it would work, but one thing is for sure: Sakurai can turn ANYONE into a fighter. Just ask Mr. Game & Watch, R.O.B. and Wii Fit Trainer.
13. N/A
14. ISAAC: He most definitely deserves to be promoted to playable character. However, like you, I think his chances are slim.
15. NESS: A sure bet.
16. RIDLEY: There is much controversy surrounding this character. It is almost confirmed to be a stage hazard/boss, but with Sakurai you can't say anything for sure. He could be playing us all and ultimately reveal Ridley as a playable character. Or maybe not, but one thing is for sure: Ridley deserves to be in SSB.
17. SNAKE: Almost guaranteed to be out of the game. It is evident Kojima prefers Sony platforms for Metal Gear Solid. That is why Snake should have never been in SSB. And this is coming from a Metal Gear fan.
18. GANONDORF: A sure bet. But he does NEED an original moveset! A moveset that shows he is a powerful wizard and a formidable swordsman.
19. LUCAS: Even though he is unique enough, I think he could be cut.
20. CHIBI-ROBO: I too believe he is very unlikely, but he would be a very unique fighter. He has plenty moveset potential, but sadly I don't have much hope for him either.
21. MR. GAME & WATCH: We could say he is confirmed, but I honestly never doubted his return. He is Nintendo's first video game character and his addition in SSB was brilliant.
22. SHULK: His game became very popular and highly acclaimed. He has a good chance for SSB.
23. META KNIGHT: A sure bet. However, he truly needs to be nerfed.
24. CHROM: Almost a sure bet. With Awakening elevating Fire Emblem's popularity and sales higher than it has ever been, how can they leave the protagonist of that game out of SSB?
25. ICE CLIMBERS: I truly believe that if they are cut it is because of 3DS's limitations. If all players choose Ice Climbers, eight fully detailed characters on-screen all running at 60fps and in sterioscopic 3D (plus moving stages, items and Assist Trophies/Pokemon) could prove too much for the portable to handle. If that was the case, however, I think they could reduce the duo to a single character. And make Nana an alternate costume. It would not be the same, but at least we could keep them in the game.
