Description Mireille Bouquet from Noir, the partner of Kirika Yuumura. Because she is from Corsica and they are closer in appearance to Italians than their French cousins, I decided to make her more realistic. Not that there are no blondes in Corsica, but their skin is naturally darker and Corsicans are often mistaken for Italians. The original blonde-haired, blue-eyed, pale skinned Mireille from the actual show is quite rare in Corsica. Besides, I think she looks a lot more kick ass as a brunette! ^_^
These are her real colours:

...Isn't this the cover image from The Art of Drawing Manga? You should probably credit the image you copied/traced for this, at least. www.organicmetal.co.uk/Organic…

No it isn't. I've never seen that book before in my life. In fact, that book stole it from where the image is actually from.
She is Mireille Bouquet from an anime called Noir, and I didn't trace it. I drew it freehand on Paint using the Line Tool.
I also referenced the original image in the description.
That book should be giving credit.

Ah, so it is! I'm very sorry about that, I wasn't expecting the cover image of that book to have been art theft (and I'm surprised that the book has been out for so many years without people calling it out on this). I shouldn't have assumed, I guess after being on da so long I've got a little twitchy on my "tracer!" trigger finger, haha. I just never expected a big-selling book to have plagiarised art on full display on the cover, haha. I hope you can forgive the slip-up.

Hey, no problem. :3
And I think most "How to Draw Manga" books are like that because they're straight from Japan. I think they might have permission to do this. If you look at other books like this, the pages also resemble characters from actual anime/manga series. I know because I used to have one when I was a kid. Not THIS one, but another one called "How to Draw Manga Bodies and Anatomy", wherein a lot of the pages ripped off actual characters like Sailor Moon, Digimon, Dragon Ball Z, etc.
I think it's just extra incentive to get people to draw.

Thanks, I'm super relieved, I felt pretty bad for jumping down your throat like that.

I would understand it more if it was a book from Japan? The one it's on the cover of is made by an American dude, and seeing as it's definitely not allowed to use art uncredited in a published book over there, it feels more like straight-up plagarism. I know in Japan they're pretty chill, though, like with doujin and stuff because in the end the original creators lose nothing and doujin acts as exposure/advertism for the original book or series. But it feels pretty skeevy when a Western artist just slaps a lesser-known anime poster image on the front of his how-to-draw book...like, dude, it's your book, use your own art, haha! It's weird to think he got away with it with almost nobody noticing.

Hmm, that is odd. I didn't know it was American. :/
I'm surprised he got away with it too. But like you said, it's probably because a lot of people don't know what Noir is.

I try to post something once or twice a month, but I'm a university student with a job, so I don't have a lot of time anymore.
I am working on something right now, though. Whenever I have spare time. I'm not sure when it will be posted, but I'm determined to get it finished soon.
Thank you for your comment. It's very kind of you. ^_^
