A great capture! Some of the ones I was shooting last summer ... got taken by hawks and kite we have here. Over in an instance.

Hi,
Thank you for your visits and comments. I am afraid I do not get here very often anymore. I ran out of steam ... and life has become busy. Where does it all go?
Regarding the hawks before I started putting seed out for the doves and other birds. I had never witnessed raptors come down into an urban yard. As of this year, I have viewed two different types of hawks and one kite. I was pretty bummed out over their feeding. Literally, the blink of an eye.
That was not my intent.
I did move the seed under the tree and lately I have not seen as many. They beautiful and graceful but ... For the record, here are some photos (not mine). I used them for ID. See. “DFW Raptors” at dfwurbanwildlife.com/2014/07/2… . They are beautiful and from the brief time viewed ... very graceful.
Best to you, maybe someday soon ... I will be back.
Frank
