Great kanji, in old times this was kenjutsu, but they change the jutsu for the do so the word "Way" was more like a path to follow
rather than the jutsu wich means technique.
But i guess that all this you already know it !!

I would suggest reading Flashing Steel: Mastering Eishin-ryu Swordsmanship by Masayuki Shimabukuro, Hanshi if you enjoy learning about some of the philosophy and history of the Japanese sword.
