To say that it's beautiful wouldn't express what I think.  I love it.

Something I seek... but it is very difficult.

If you want, try to practice Shikantaza (只管打坐) or "just sitting", dropping all thoughts and expectations. Then there is no need to continue to seek for Satori. I am practicing now over 10 years and fortunately I do not feel enlightened at all.

Really, that's the humor in it, isn't it? To seek what cannot be actively looked for?

Usually, the things I seek come to me when I stop my pursuit. Like catching a runaway dog by sitting down and waiting for it to return.

Yes in Soto-Tradition of Zen-Buddhism it's basically the same.

You need the right effort and discipline (Zazen meditation) but you have to drop everything which comes to your mind. Dropping your goals, thoughts of good and bad, no achievement, jus let the things be as they are.

If you fight and struggle to bring your mind to peace, it will never happen to find peace through violent force.

And yes, the result is, the dog comes back. And one day, he may stay with you.

Hope that do not sound too pathetic, but its hard for me to talk about that in a foreign language and at the same time using a simple and clear speech, so please forgive if it sounds to "preacherman-like"

Thank you so much for this direction! Always a pleasure to see the heart of others in such a clear way. Your words are very meaningful.

Thank you for your kind words, I am happy if they have some meaning to others.

Personally, besides daily meditation, I just try to do my very best in everything (what can we do else?).

This was probably the best conversation I read on the internet. Thanks for the small piece of enlightenment.

The thanks and credit should go to Chiyo-san for her wonderful work, otherwise, this dalogue would not have been happened.
